EN: A dissertation discussing how picó culture became part of the sonic identity in the Gulf of Urabá. It ncludes an account of the local festive culture and cultural industry, and the emergence and development of the picó culture in this region. It also includes interviews with picó owners from the municipality of Turbo. The peculiar music taste of this region, influenced by the sounds of Jamaica and Panama, is presented. This text investigates the development of this entertainment tradition and industry outside the main cities of the Colombian Caribbean.

ES: Una monografía de grado que describe como la cultura de los Picós se ha convertido en parte de la identidad sonora en el golfo de Urabá. Incluye la descripción de la cultura festiva, la industria cultural, el surgimiento y desarrollo de de la cultura del picó en esta región. Se encuentran entrevistas a los dueños de picós del municipio de Turbo. Se presenta la línea músical que siguen los equipos en esta regón la cual se relaciona con los sonidos de Jamaica y Panamá. Este texto presenta el contexto de esta tradición festiva por fuera de las grandes ciudades del Caribe colombiano.
